Worry is a compulsive preoccupation of a mind without trust. Worry is an anxious mind's way of polluting the present by dredging up some imagined future nightmare fantasy, obscuring the perfect reality of here-and-now. Fueled by Fear, Worry fulfills its own prophecies by creating a false present from which to move into the next moment
Worry is the result of a gross misuse of two divinely inspired human abilities -- to predict possible outcomes, and to create whatever we give our attention to. The human mind cannot tell the difference between something vividly imagined and something that is real. We catastrophise, in order to prepare ourselves for a worst-case scenario we are certain will come. And we get to be right.
Worry is a synthetic substitute for a natural concern we never gave ourself the chance to experience or express. We worry to ennoble ourselves, but we succeed only in degrading our possibilities. Worry is a phony virtue. It takes us out of a real experience of what-is and paralyses our possibilities.
It is the action of a frightened mind in the deepest dark of its own shadow.
Oh, how we love to scare ourselves to death!
