Desire is dreaming with energy.
Drop desire? Why would anyone want to do that?
That's just as well. Desire cannot be dropped. The very desire to drop desire -- is a desire. A new kind of greed takes over.
Let desire be. When we wake up, desire will drop itself like dry leaves falling from a tree in autumn.
Prayers to God are Desires.
Meditation, on the other hand,
Undesired and unsought,
is nothing.
Silence. Peace. A state of being devoid of desire.
If that is what you Desire, you might as well enjoy the desire for its own sake. That is the meditation.
Your mind will object, but then Mind -- with all its ideas -- has no idea what Peace is. Mind thinks that is stagnation, and squirms. Frustration is disagreeable, but when Mind is around, real disaster is imminent if we get what it wants. Mind thinks it should get the credit.
Blessed are they who don't get gratified with everything they want.
Blessed are they who learn to get comfortable with Desire, for in so being they are already satisfied.
