JEALOUSY

Jealousy is an insane, irrational condition
That arises from a ground-being of
"Without you, I am not enough and sufficient for myself."

The experience we generally label "Jealousy"
Is different for each of us.
But as a general observation,
I see two basic kinds of jealousy --
Male and female.
Male jealousy is property-based.....
"You belong to me."
Female jealousy is based on a fear of Lack --
"Without one of these things with a tag of tissue between his legs, I cannot survive."

Jealousy is a complex emotion,
A bit like a curry.
Some of the ingredients I've identified are -
  • Possessiveness -- a monopolistic urge to own and control
  • A seismic belief in, and dread of, Lack and Loss
  • A certainty of Scarcity, giving rise to a consciousness of Competitiveness
  • An unhealthy addiction to "winning".
  • A deep-rooted fear of, and resistance to being Inferior (I make myself feel inferior to attract and hang onto a superior being)
  • Cowardice.
  • Laziness -- a lack of motivation to go responsible and create what is desired.
  • Egocentric obsessiveness.
Jealousy is a self-defeating strategy
In which we settle for central position,
When what we're looking for is intimate connection.
Jealousy repels the very thing it seeks to attract.

It's never going to get us to happiness.
