DISEASE

It is a Rule of Reality
That whatever we deny or suppress
Will persist and grow
From the energy we give it
By alternately creating and opposing it..

Sure, the disease has to go
But first work on the "Me" that feeds it.

Someone once asked a wise American-Indian Shaman
"What do I do about my demons?"
To which the old man replied tartly
"Stop feeding them."

Sit with this possibility for a few minutes:
Dis-ease is the second-most sincere form of self-criticism.
{Suicide is #.1.}

Just be with that. Give it space to be.

Now, list your symptoms.
Now imagine you're talking about someone else who has these symptoms and ask yourself --
What kind of person would willingly create these symptoms for his/her self?

You're looking for
  • personal characteristics
  • beliefs and ideas about him/her self
  • possible payoffs (e.g. sympathy, compensation)
For example, I'm just doing this exercise now on my hay fever -- What kind of person would willingly create this hay fever for himself? --
An irritated person; an emotional person; a person trying to suppress something; a person with someone or something up his nose; an exasperated person; a person looking for an excuse to be miserable????......

[It helps if you're talking about someone else -- real or imaginary -- because you need to be as critical and judgmental as you can possibly be.]

Stay open, keep breathing and take what you get.

ANOTHER REALITY

Heart disease, cancer, diabetes and AIDS --
The modern symbols of repression and death --
Are becoming the greatest blessings to mankind.

Through their grace,
Lives are being transformed.
Compassion
And a new awareness
Are showing up all over the planet.
Selfish obsession is being replaced
By genuine and caring concern.
Volunteering has become a valid and respected occupation.
