ON THE OTHER HAND........

Do you remember a time when you were dog-tired,
And it felt as if the whole world was coming down on you?
Yet, when you woke up the next morning,
Rested and refreshed,
Those same things didn't look nearly as calamitous
As they had the night before?

It feels similar when we change our point of view,
Our perspective,
Our way of seeing "It",
Our level of being......
When we look at something from a different viewpoint,
We can get an entirely fresh perspective on it;
We can see things we couldn't see before,
And things that previously seemed so monstrous,
Suddenly take on an entirely different shape.

There is, however, a cost to this --
In order to see something from somewhere else,
We do have to relinquish the position we're standing on,
And human minds just hate doing that.

We don't, however, have to make our present position "Wrong" in order to get off it;
We just have to let go our righteous, compulsive grip on it.
We don't have to make a new possibility "right" in order to try it on,
We just have to give it a sincerely curious "maybe...let's see."

Isn't it wonderful to know
That we all have the power and the ability
To change our experience of what is so for us
At will?
Simply by changing our point of view
(i.e. the point from which we view it).

Having gotten a new perspective, though, we have to be ready
To let that go, too,
Before it becomes another fixed position --
Another set of concrete boots to weigh us down.

Take what you get,
And become another context,
Another level of awareness and being,
And get yet another perspective,
And another one,
And yet another........
Ad infinitum.............
