Stress is a reaction to circumstances,
An inner and outer,
Physical, mental and emotional
Web of tensions we feel
When the circumstances and events of our life
Do not match up
With the way we additively demand that they should be;
When there's something about the energy of What-Is
And The Way-That-It-Is
That we're resisting.
Circumstances do not cause stress;
We cause stress.
Stress is something we do to ourself.
Other things just trigger it.
The things we struggle with are a pretty good indication
Of the level of consciousness that we're in at the time.
(We do move around a bit, you know)
When we're under stress
We mistakenly blame the energy of the What-Is
For creating the stress.
We make the problem worse.
The problem isn't the energy,
It's our resistance to it.
But we're so used to resistance and stress,
And so hooked on the temporary aliveness it generates,
(Stress is guarana for the psyche)
We assume
"Some stress is necessary. How could I live without it?
Happily.
If you've had enough of stress,
And are serious about getting off it,
Here's the bottom line --
What-Is, Is.
That energy isn't going to shift for you, me or anyone else who gets in its way.
When we resist it, What-Is exhausts us and bowls us over:
If, on the other hand, we become transparent to it,
What-Is will energise us and pass on through.
We can change our response to the energy
By becoming more fluid, more flexible and more transparent to it.
The more we can allow --
Let go of attachment --
Let go of the effort to control --
Let go of our addictions to the way we're so sure it "should" be --
Stress will abate
To reveal Equanimity.
Expanding your awareness
Lessens the capacity of people and events to trigger
A stress reaction in you.
You get stressed when you give away your power
To respond appropriately;
When you insist that things and people should be
Other than the way they seem to be to you right now.
The last word --
The difference between Control and Power is
Control restricts.
Power allows.
Now watch you mind go crazy..............
