PERFECTION

What is perfection?
It strikes me that the striving for Perfection
Is a striving for the Lost Womb.

Well, we left mother's womb
Because we ran out of space in there.
We got too big for it,
And had developed sufficiently to discard the primal support systems
For something more sophisticated and challenging.
It was time to move on
Into a bigger womb.

When I get that I'm just as safe in this womb
As I was in the last one.
Then I get that all is perfect, just as it is.

Perfection is ---

Doing and fully experiencing
What we're doing and experiencing
While we're doing and experiencing it.

A Worrier mows the lawn, thinking about having to do it again.
A Guilt-tripper mows the lawn, beating himself up about the way he did it last time.
A Control freak mows the lawn, churned up about how messily the grass has been growing.
A religious man mows the lawn, thinking about God.
A conscious man mows the lawn, experiencing mowing the lawn.

That is Perfection.
